Note in English

The Hindi language was preserved by culture in Mauritius and began its illustrious journey from Baithkas through secondary schools before arriving in higher education institutions.Indian immigrants place significant weight to the language out of cultural pride. In Mauritius, all languages are taught as second languages, however Hindi is the third most popular language after English and French. Creole, the native tongue of the locals, has just made its way into the school curriculum and is now taught as an examinable subject., which is taught as a second language, had to overcome many obstacles in order to keep its status. Now that Creole is being emphasized in the school curriculum, Hindi will need to rise to new difficulties. For those who are passionate about Hindi, it is now imperative that they review the strategies and approaches used in Hindi instruction and create new ones in order to meet the new obstacles.

The research paper on &;Teaching Hindi literature as a second language in Mauritius' secondary schools; formative evaluation &  discusses not only the current state of language teaching, creative and corrective measures, but also perspectives and recommendations for the effective teaching and learning of Hindi in Mauritius, so that Hindi has a solid foundation in contrast to English and French.
